💡 Tip: For a bet to be profitable long-term, you need to have consistently positive value. A single value bet doesn't guarantee profits, but 100 will.
What is a Value Bet?
A value bet occurs when the probability you assign to an outcome is higher than the implied probability in the bookmaker's odds. In other words, the bookmaker is offering higher odds than they should based on the real probability of the event.
Value Bet Formula
Value = (Your Probability × Odds) - 1
If Value > 0 → There's value
If Value < 0 → No valueReal Example
Team A at odds 2.50 (implied probability 40%). You estimate 48% real probability. Value = (0.48 × 2.50) - 1 = 0.20 = +20% value. This is a value bet.
